Making connection with people plays an important role in the success of a person in his life. Successful connection will enable a person to be understand, ideas expressed and accepted in the same mental wave.
Body language plays an important part in making connection with people. It occupies 55% of our message. Our voice occupies 38% of the message and what we said contribute 7% only to the total message.
I met a young man of age 32 years old today. Whenever he spoke with me, his eyes will look to the right and left of the room. His head was raised above normal. I felt that he was too arrogant or self centered. Thus I showed him a 15 minute video presentation on communication. After the video presentation, he said that he got the message.
My life is to help people to succeed. I like to touch people's life so that they will change and have a better life.
Tomorrow, I am leaving for Kota Kinabalu to conduct some corporate coaching to senior management staff in a multi national corporation. I know I will enjoy the trip.
My success is measured by the number of life that I have touched. Thus my mission in life is to touch people's life by connecting with them effectively.
A lot of problems in the modern society derived from communication break-down. I like to compare communication to a bridge where it link between 2 persons. But this bridge is very fragile... one wrong use of words or a body language, this bridge will be shaken.
Do you connect with people well ? Do you connect well with your family members ? Do you connect well with your colleagues at the work place ?
When we cannot connect 100% with any one of them, it is the communication problems. When I have any problem or thinking about anything, I will approach the person concerned to ask him or her to clarify so that both of us are on the same platform of understanding. Failure to seek for clarification will lead to connection friction.
